Tower Tidings - Week of April 15, 2018

Apologies to Gilbert & Sullivan
RESCHEDULED
May 4 & 5 at 7p, May 6 at 3p

Apologies to Gilbert & Sullivan performances are rescheduled to May 4th and 5th at 7:00p, and May 6th at 3:00p. Our misadventure-prone characters—Phoebe, Avery, Reginald, and Marjorie—have wandered out into the countryside and have become lost. We will bring them home soon, so you can hear their hilarious story. We can't wait to have you join us in a few weeks!

Worship at First Congregational!

We are making great plans for Christian fellowship, outreach, and spiritual growth following Easter. Sunday Sunrise Adult Class will continue at 8:30am and move to the Lounge. We are going to offer Early Bird Worship at 8:30am in the Chapel. The Men’s Fellowship of the Church is hoping to spearhead Meaningful Movies on Wednesday Nights at 7p (after Kirk Night meals) in April. Finally, we are planning a Peace Officers Recognition Sunday in Church on May 6th. These are just some of the many activities in the weeks ahead. Christ is alive throughout our congregation!

Memorial Service for Margaret Sheeley
It is with deepest sorrow we announce the passing of Margaret Sheeley on April 6, 2018. You are invited to a memorial service to celebrate her life on Saturday, April 14 at noon in the Main Sanctuary. A reception will be held in Kimberly Hall immediately following the service.

Mayor's Prayer Breakfast - May 3rd
We invite our church members to join First Congregational at the Mayor's Prayer Breakfast held at the University of Redlands on Thursday, May 3rd, 2018 (The National Day of Prayer) at 7:00a. Cost is $12 per seat and includes a continental breakfast. To make a reservation, please call the church office by Wednesday, April 25th, or sign up at the welcome table!

Peace Officers Recognition Sunday - May 6th
We are planning a Peace Officers Recognition Sunday in Church on May 6th. Our past Chief Garcia, our present Chief Catren, and our Mayor Paul Foster plan to be in attendance to help us honor those who serve in our various police forces. Please share with friends and neighbors about this service, and especially invite those who serve, or have served. We will only have one service at 10am on that day.

Women's Book Club - May 20th
The women’s book club is reading “Love Does”, a NY Times bestseller, written by Bob Goff. Light and fun, unique and profound, the lessons drawn from Bob's life and attitude are irresistible and inspirational. Whether or not you’ve joined us previously, you’re welcome to read the book and come to our next discussion on May 20 at 11:15 in the church library.
